A Canadian man has made headlines after stealing a car and then returning it to its owner with a full tank of petrol.

一名加拿大男子偷了一辆车，然后把车加满油还给车主，这一事件成为了新闻头条。

Nova Scotia police said a woman reported her vehicle as stolen from a shopping centre car park.

Nova Scotia警方称，一名女子报警称她的汽车在购物中心停车场被盗了。

She said she had parked her car near an identical vehicle and, once she was done shopping, her car was gone.

这名女子说，她把车停在了一辆一模一样的车旁边，买完东西出来后，车就不见了。

Identical：完全同样的；相同的；同一的

The theft turned out to be accidental. The man came forward and explained he got in the wrong car and drove off.

不过事实证明，这起盗窃事件是偶然的，并不是故意的。这名男子说他上错了车，然后把车开走了。

Come forward：站出来；挺身而出

He said, surprisingly, his key fob managed to unlock the other car and even start the engine.

他说，神奇的是，他的钥匙居然能打开另一辆车，甚至发动了引擎。

Once the man realised he was in the wrong car, he stopped to fill it up with petrol, and returned it to its rightful owner.

当那人意识到自己上错了车时，他停下来给车加满了汽油，然后把车还给了车主。

Rightful：正确的；公正的；合法的

The owner reimbursed the man for the petrol, thus concluding the nicest "robbery" story ever.

最后车主把加油费还给了男子，这段最美妙的“小偷盗车”故事就此完美结束了。
