I was very lucky to grow up surrounded by books. Both my mother and father loved reading, so some of my childhood books were as old as my parents. These books were well-loved, and when I look at them now, I feel happy that the books can endure from generation to generation.
我从小就在书堆里面长大，为此我感到非常幸运。我的双亲都热爱阅读，所以我的部分童年书籍已如双亲的年份了。我也热爱这些书籍，每当我翻开它们，我都会非常开心，因为这些书籍能够一代一代地保存和传递下来。
You may be wondering, what can I remember from my favourite childhood books?
你可能有些好奇，我能记起那些最喜欢的童年书籍呢？
I remember:
Fascinating stories
Beautiful, intriguing pictures
A feeling of wonderment
Curiosity and an attraction to the unknown
What I don't recall:
Increasing my vocabulary X%
Being bored
我记得以下：
1、引人入胜的故事情节
2、漂亮、有趣的图片
3、神游的感觉
4、对未知的东西充满好奇心
记不太清的有：
1、词汇增长量未知
2、觉得无趣
Repetition is the key to learning, and yet there are two ways to ensure repetitive learning. One way is nagging, where a parent tells their child to learn learn learn, otherwise something bad will happen.
反复演练是学习的关键。有两个方法可以加强反复性学习，第一个是唠叨，父母不停叮嘱孩子学习学习学习，否则会有不妙的事情发生。
The other way is attractive content, that the child actually wants to read again and again, like I did with my favourite childhood books.
另外一个方法则是吸引人的学习内容。有了吸引人的内容，孩子才回自觉地反复阅读，就像我小时读我最喜欢的书的时候。
Recently I learned about a new series of books designed to last for at least one generation.
最近我听说有专门为一代人设计的一套新书。
Good Night Little Me, Fancy to Be Me, Princess and Hello World are four books that are completely personalised to a child.
《晚安小宝贝》、《发现自我的美妙之旅》、《小公主》和《世界你好》这四本专为儿童量身定做的书籍。
As a child, when I read the stories of Wynken, Blinken and Nod, or The Magic Wallpaper, or Tasseltip, wouldn't it be amazing if it was me in that book. Simon Young. If I could see myself in that book.
在我小的时候，当我读到《云肯、布林肯与诺德》、《魔法墙纸》或是其它童话书的时候，我会想象，要是我（Simon Young)就是这书中的主人公该多好呀！
That's what the creators of these books have done. A parent sends their child's details – name, photo, and other information, and they receive a completely unique, personalised book that will last for a generation – or more.
而这一愿望，上文中提到的四本书就能为你实现。父母把孩子的基本信息发给制书方——姓名、照片、生日等等，那么他们将收到的是一本独特的，个性化的书籍，专属他们下一代的书籍，甚至下下一代。
Just think … in 50 years' time, your child will be reading this book to their child, telling them about their adventures, and how much their parents loved them.
想想看，50年后，你的孩子可能要给他们的子孙念故事或者叫他们读书，届时就可以告诉子孙们自己的奇妙经历，告诉他们当初自己是多么喜欢这些书籍。
